The Phantom of the Opera

The latest production from the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society is continuing at Les Quennevais School Concert Hall this weekend.
The Phantom of the Opera will run until Saturday 1 June and is being directed by Michelle Parker, with Annette Blanchet acting as musical director.
The performance will feature a 26-piece orchestra, dancers, and a choir.
Annette said: “Musically, people can expect to hear all the famous and wonderful music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
“We have a wonderful 26-person orchestra in place for each performance.
“There will be such a rich and full sound; when people hear the full effect for numbers like Music of the Night, I think it will be quite magical.”

Michelle added: “We have been restricted by the licence, so we are unable to replicate any of the familiar costumes, dance routines or staging.
“But hopefully we have put our own spin on the production, using Victorian steampunk styling, and creating a new experience for the audience.”
There will be four evening performances starting at 19:30 from Tuesday 28 May to Saturday 1 June, as well as a matinee performance on Saturday at 14:30.
