A seasonal curling facility and après-ski-themed bar is set to open this year, giving amateur winter athletes and Christmas party-goers a new activity to try.

Rocco’s Activity Centre, which runs mini-golf courses in St Peter, has announced plans to open eight synthetic curling rinks at its site from October to December.

The centre said: “The idea is to create something a little different for Jersey during the colder months – an indoor winter activity that can be enjoyed regardless of the weather, whether that’s a family or group of friends coming down for a game of curling or a company bringing its entire team for a Christmas social.”

Alongside the eight rinks, there will be an “après-ski”-themed bar serving snacks and drinks.

Rocco’s said it aimed to make curling “affordable and accessible”, with prices “in line” with its other activities. Mini golf currently costs £9.50 per adult and £8 per child.

The curling facility is expected to have two different offerings.

Public sessions will operate on a turn-up-and-play basis similar to mini golf, while a package called “Stones & Steins” will allow groups of between 25 and 86 people to book the entire venue for a social event or party.

Curling has previously been offered in Jersey as part of the Jersey on Ice rink at the Weighbridge, although the Jersey Development Company, which manages Jersey on Ice, is yet to announce its plans for this winter.

The centre said the new attraction would be suitable for all ages, groups and parties and “unlike anything else currently available on the island”.

Rocco’s has also teased “something big” due to open in April 2027.
