The family of a motorcycle enthusiast who died two years ago in a racing accident are appealing for his missing memorial plaque to be returned.

Kieran Le Bail died from injuries sustained during a sprint event organised by the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club on the Five Mile Road in June 2023.

His mother Anita said a plaque placed at La Pulente in memory of the 23-year-old shortly after his death had gone missing in the last two weeks.

She stressed that the sign had definitely been “taken” as it had been secured with a stem.

“It’s been pulled out of the ground,” she explained.

Anita continued: “I just can’t think of why someone would even do that to us.

“If somebody has taken it, or it’s a prank or somebody was drunk and they took it, please return it.

“Do the right thing – just give it back.”

She said that family members and others close to Kieran “all really love and miss him”.

“We’re still grieving,” his mother added.

“I just want to always have him remembered.”
