Fresh from a year of elections across in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, politicians will descend on Sark this autumn to compare notes on democracy, voter turnout and what they learned at the ballot box.
The Sark Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) is hosting the CPA Crown Dependencies Meeting in October this year.
Guernsey held its elections last year, while Jersey held its in June this year and the Isle of Man is due to have its own in September.
“Reflections and lessons”
Given the elections around the islands, the theme of this year’s CPA meeting is: ‘Good Electoral Practice: Reflections and Lessons from the 2026 Crown Dependency Elections’.
Announcing that the island would be hosting, Chief Pleas – Sark’s government – explained that delegates will have the opportunity to discuss their islands’ approaches to voter engagement and electoral administration, while considering different examples of good democratic practice.
They will also have the opportunity learn about the tiny island’s unique constitutional arrangement, governance structures and its community.

Chief Pleas said Sark’s local businesses also stand to benefit, with hopes that visitors will spend time enjoying the island’s hospitality, as well as exploring the island and its various attractions.
Lunch will be served on both days to delegates, who will also enjoy a guided tour by horse and carriage.
