Islanders are invited to lace up their running shoes next month for one of Jersey’s most distinctive endurance events in aid of a local dementia charity.
Hapi on the Hill will take place on Sunday 17 May 2026 at L’Etacq Hill in aid of Dementia Jersey.
The event challenges participants to run repeated ascents and descents of the hill, with distances ranging from 5km to a full marathon. It is open to individuals, relay teams and corporate groups.
Co-founders Mark Grenyer and Matt Harris said the event offers something different from a traditional road race.

“Hapi on the Hill isn’t just another running event – it’s a unique experience set in the natural amphitheatre of one of Jersey’s most beautiful nature spots,” they said.
“With 5k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon options, plus relay teams, there is something for everyone.
“We encourage all islanders to get involved, whether that’s taking part or coming along to cheer on the runners.”
Participants are encouraged to raise money for Dementia Jersey, with the top fundraiser winning a £550 paddleboard.
Junior teams raising £1,000 or more will have their entry fees reimbursed.

Claudine Snape, chief executive of Dementia Jersey, said the charity was “incredibly grateful” to be chosen as the beneficiary.
“Events like this raise vital funds that allow us to continue supporting people living with dementia and their families across Jersey,” she said.
“Just as importantly, they bring the community together to raise awareness and show that no one facing dementia is alone.”
