Time is running out for local wordsmiths to apply for the chance to perform their poetry on an international stage.
Local poets interested in representing Jersey at a two-day poetry festival in Brussels have until Monday to apply.
Transpoesie is a prestigious European poetry festival now in its 15th year.
The event, which takes place on 18–19 September, brings together poets from across the continent to explore this year’s theme ‘Turbulent Times’.
The selected Jersey poet will receive financial support to attend the festival, as well as performance opportunities across Brussels and Antwerp, and a tour of Antwerp’s poetry archives.
The chosen writer will also have the opportunity to take part in Poetik Bazaar from 20 to 21 September, at which poets can sell their work and connect with fellow creatives.
