The fire started in the utility room and ripped through the rest of the property.

10 firefighters were called to deal with the blaze around 17:00.

“On arrival crews were met with an established fire that had taken hold in the utility room, and broken through into the adjoining garage and kitchen of the property,” officials explained.

“Two firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and using water jets, quickly extinguished the fire. A further two firefighters searched the property for fire spread and used a ventilation fan to clear the house of smoke.”

The crew added: “No one was injured at this incident and early indications as to the cause of the fire point to an electrical fault in the property’s immersion heater.”
