Firefighters were called to the property around 18:00 last night.
Two engines were sent from town and one crewed by on-call rescuers from the western station.
While firefighters tackled the blaze on the outside, two entered the home wearing specialist breathing gear to attack the inner fire with a high-pressure hose.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
Watch Commander Richard Ryan has since issued a warning to the public to “ensure that their barbecue is in good working condition.”
