The fifth rendition of a British and Norman short film festival is appealing for applications from the Channel Islands.
‘Fish&Films’ will showcase screenings of winning submissions, as well as exhibitions and live performances, in Granville later this year.
Organised by the Sillages Association, the event takes place from 5 to 7 December.
Around twenty films will be shortlisted for judging by the festival’s selection committee.
Three awards of €500 and a ‘Trofish’ – an original prize created especially for the festival – are up for grabs, which will be awarded to the winner of the audience prize, the jury prize, and the high school and student prize.
All genres of film will be considered – including animation, documentary and experimental work.
Interested filmmakers must submit films abiding by the following requirements:
- Shot in whole or in part in Normandy or the UK and/or made or produced with the help of Normans or Britons
- Subtitled in French for British films, or English for French films
- The film must have been completed after 1 January 2024
- Films should be up to 30 minutes long
Awards will be presented on Sunday 7 December at the Le Sélect cinema in Granville.
