A 12-year-old boy who was once told he might never learn to read has raised more than £1,400 for the charity that helped change his life.
CJ Ballantyne launched his fundraising run in 2024 to give back to local charity Words and Numbers Matter, which helped him overcome literacy difficulties and rebuild his confidence.
Since then, the annual event has raised thousands of pounds to help other children access the same support.
The 2026 run took place from La Frégate on Tuesday 21 July.
The 5km event attracted family, friends and supporters from across the Island, with donations continuing to pour in as CJ aims to reach his £2,000 target.
