Thousands of spectators lined Victoria Avenue at the weekend as the Battle of Flowers returned to its ancestral home.
After a scaled-down parade through St Helier last year, a much grander carnival took place on the Avenue with more than 24 float entries, live entertainment and character performances.
From Disney classics to the “Roaring 20s”, Islanders were treated to a colourful range of themes – with no admission charge.

This year’s event also saw some changes to the traditional Battle of Flowers format as temperatures soared to around 25°C to 28°C.
Hydration breaks were introduced for performers and volunteers to give those taking part a chance to cool down during the hot weather.
The Optimists Club stole the show, taking home the prestigious Prix D’Honneur award for its float inspired by the Disney film Brave. The winning creation featured Castle DunBroch, bagpipes and Princess Merida.
