Thousands of islanders gathered in St Helier for this year’s Battle of Flowers parades, which featured more than 20 floral floats along with dancers, marching bands and local entertainers.

The parades took place in the town centre rather than along the seafront, marking a smaller-scale event than in previous years.

Large floats were replaced with smaller designs, but the main elements of the tradition – which has run for more than a century – remained.

The day parade began at 13:00 on Friday 8 August, and the illuminated floats and firework took place during the evening parade from 19:30 on Saturday 9 August.

Organisers took to social media to announce that St Clement’s Lion King themed float, ‘Inoski’ took home the prize of Winner of the Peoples vote.

Following this years success, discussions are underway to return the parade to its home on Victoria Avenue for 2026, which will enable the reintroduction of the 45ft floats.
