Gigi Neil played the role of Donna in Virgin River, a Netflix romantic drama, for two episodes in the show’s recently-released sixth season.

Virgin River follows a nurse who moves to small-town Northern California and tends to that community.

Throughout her younger years, Gigi was an active member of the island’s acting and dancing community, participating in a number of groups, such as the Green Room Club, First Tower Dance School and the JADC.

13 years ago, Gigi starred in a JCG production of Sweet Charity opposite Jonny Labey, who later joined the casts of EastEnders, Dance Dance Dance, and Hollyoaks.

The Jersey College for Girls alumnus was also elected Miss St Clement for the Battle of Flowers in 2012.

Since then, she has undertaken a variety of work as a performer which has taken her around the world from Japan to her current base in Canada.

The roles have seen her performing stunts at Universal Studios and create motion capture for video games, including League of Legends, FIFA 21 and Hogwarts Legacy.

Posting on Instagram, Gigi said she was “very excited to be joining the Sheridan family” and that she was “truly honoured to join such a special show and cast”. She said she aimed to bring “mischief and playfulness” to the role of Donna.

JCG lauded their former student as they shared news of her recent casting on social media on her 31st birthday this week, on 10 January.

We are so proud of what you have accomplished and the person you are,” the school said.
