Due to the recent heavy rain, one of the electrical cores in the Broad Street headquarters was affected.
A Government spokesperson said: “The business continuity arrangements for the Government HQ have been put in place and services continue to be delivered.
“Around 300 people were working in Broad Street due to the continued physical distancing arrangements, with the majority of employees working from home or alternative locations.
“The building will be closed for the rest of the week while remedial work is undertaken.”
It’s the second time in less than a year the HQ has been hit by bad weather.
In October, Broad Street was closed due to damage to the roof as a result of Storm Alex’s Force 9 winds.
Perhaps fortunately, employees won’t have to remain in the premises for much longer. The site of the former headquarters, Cyril Le Marquand House, has been decided as the site of a new building to be delivered by Dandara.
