The largest motorsport gathering in Jersey’s calendar is in full throttle this weekend. Express took a look at what is in store…

The annual Jersey International Motoring Festival (JIMF) takes place this year from 5 to 8 June, showcasing a wide range of cars, motorbikes, and motorsport activities, alongside food, drink, and live music.

The event is free to attend.

The festival opened on Thursday evening with the traditional ‘Rolling Roadshow’ on Victoria Avenue.

This event featured vehicle demonstrations from clubs and private entrants, including both parade-style cavalcades and faster-paced displays.

The competitive Moonlight Sprint took place on Friday night when drivers and riders competed along a quarter-mile stretch of Victoria Avenue in a timed sprint.

Here is what is due to take place over the rest of the weekend…

Saturday 7 June

Saturday brings the Westmount Hillclimb where competitors will race from West Park towards Overdale in a timed event – similar in style to Jersey’s traditional Bouley Bay and Grève de Lecq climbs.

The day also includes a wide variety of food and drink options in Lower Park and People’s Park, open throughout the festival.

Live music will be performed at West Park on both Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday 8 June

Sunday features the non-competitive exhibition ‘Active Arena’ around Victoria Park.

The high-octane driving event will showcase stunts including wheelies, donuts, and speed runs by motorbikes, go-karts, and rally cars.

The Westmount Hillclimb and vendor stands will also continue into Sunday.
