The hired silver Vauxhall SUV collided with a small silver Suzuki on the Westbound lanes of the Avenue, in the area of the First Tower junction.
Police said the collision, which is being treated as an incident of ‘driving without due care and attention’, happened between 13:45 and 14:00.
