The effectiveness of the restrictions is expected to be reviewed around Wednesday 16 December, with an option to extend them further if deemed necessary.
All premises holding a liquor licence will fall under the circuit breaker, apart from off-licence shops.
Affected establishments are thought to include: pubs, hotels and guesthouses, restaurants, social clubs and entertainment venues.

It follows a significant number of covid ‘clusters’ being linked with large gatherings held at local hospitality venues in recent weeks.
Among the key ‘super-spreader’ events was a party at the Royal Yacht – though the hotel stressed in a statement released yesterday that they had followed all public health guidance.
The Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, will discuss the new hospitality restrictions in further detail and a media briefing this evening at 19:00.
He will be accompanied by Health Minister, Deputy Richard Renouf, and the Deputy Medical Officer of Heath, Dr Ivan Muscat.

They are also expected to elaborate on other new measures aimed at curbing the spread of covid announced today, including closing the hospital to most visitors and tougher restrictions for islanders deemed to be at high risk of becoming seriously ill from covid-19.
