A local regenerative farm is inviting islanders to get a glimpse behind the scenes at a family-friendly open day this Bank Holiday Monday.
Lomah Farm in St John is opening its site to the public from 10am to 2pm on Monday 25 May.
The event will offer visitors the chance to tour the farm, meet the farmers, and learn more about how food is grown – with organisers also promising an insight into how the farm cares for its chickens.
Guided tours will take place every hour throughout the day, offering islanders a look at the workings of a small-scale Jersey supplier.
Children are encouraged to attend, with a range of family-friendly activities and opportunities to explore the working farm up close.
Lomah Farm owner Ollie Griggs said: “We’d love to invite you to Lomah Farm to see how we prepare our beds and to tell you more about what we’re trying to do here.
“Our mission is to produce healthy food for Jersey, and we just want to show more people where their food comes from.
“We’d love to welcome you and get to know you and educate you a little bit more about what we do here.”
The Lomah Farm site includes 3.5 acres of working farmland and grows more than 30 different vegetables.
Refreshments will also be available during the day from Ganache Jersey and KTea Kombucha.
The event is free to attend, but spaces are limited and booking is required.
