Islanders have been warned about scammers impersonating investment and trading websites falsely purporting to be regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

The JFSC issued statements about ‘Nopureum’ and ‘Protradingview’ – and asked anyone who has dealt with either to contact its enforcement team.

The financial service regulator explained that both scam entities and their websites “display warning signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes”.

“This includes making false representation from the JFSC and using its branding regarding the scam entity’s purported regulated status,” the JFSC added.

The warning is one of several to have been made in recent months regarding online investment scams.

Jersey’s Cyber Security Centre recently urged islanders to be vigilant after noticing a scam that attempted to impersonate a former Chief Minister, in which he was made to appear as if he was promoting a ‘public investment platform’.
