Islanders are being reminded to check whether financial service businesses are regulated in Jersey before dealing with them following reports that a scam entity, which claims to be based in the Island, is promoting its ‘services’ online.

Aragon Trade is falsely claiming to trade from 28 Esplanade in St Helier, which is in fact the genuine registered office address of JTC (Jersey) Limited.

The Jersey Financial Services Commission confirmed that Aragon Trade is not regulated or registered in Jersey to provide financial services.

The financial services watchdog confirmed that the entity, website, and email address “display warning signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes, and appears to be a scam”.

Islanders who have been targeted by this scam are urged to contact the JFSC’s enforcement team by emailing enforcement@jerseyfsc.org or calling +44 (0)1534 822000.

All regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on the JFSC’s website.
