Jersey firefighters are raising money in memory of two colleagues from Oxfordshire who died while on duty last week.

Martyn Sadler, 38, and Jennie Logan, 30, were killed along with business owner Dave Chester in a fire at a business park in Bicester on the evening of Thursday 15 May.

Two other Oxfordshire firefighters remain in hospital.

The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service has flown its flag at half-mast since the news of the deaths emerged.

Crews from Green Watch will be in the Royal Square on Tuesday 27 May from 11:00 to 14:00 collecting donations for the Fire Fighters Charity – which is helping the families of those impacted by the incident.

The event will also give islanders the chance to speak with Jersey’s frontline firefighters and tour two fire engines.

Staff will share insights into their work – from the types of emergencies they respond to, to the wider role of the service in preventing incidents and reducing risk across the island.

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service said its thoughts remain with the Sadler and Logan families, and with the two Oxfordshire firefighters who remain in hospital.
