For an island with a strong international outlook, connectivity matters. That is why KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ new route between Jersey and Amsterdam marks an exciting moment for the island.

The service connects Jersey directly to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one of Europe’s leading international hubs, giving customers access to KLM’s network of more than 160 worldwide destinations.

For Jerome Salemi, Air France-KLM General Manager for the UK, Jersey & Ireland, the route represents far more than simply adding another destination.

“Jersey is somewhere that has always stood out to us. It’s an island with a strong identity and heritage, but also one that is incredibly outward-looking. Connecting Jersey to Amsterdam opens up huge opportunities for both residents and businesses, while also making the island more accessible to international visitors,” says Salemi.

The seasonal flights which will run until the end of October 2026 are currently operated on Saturdays, however, KLM will increase the frequency to daily flights between 4 July and 30 August 2026 during the peak summer season.

“This route works for many different types of travellers,” says Salemi. “For leisure passengers, it opens up destinations that may not previously have been practical from Jersey. For business customers, it provides easier access to international markets and global opportunities. And for those visiting friends and relatives abroad, it offers a much more seamless journey.”

Flights to Amsterdam are operated by KLM Cityhopper using Embraer 175 and 190 aircraft. Customers can choose between Economy and Business Class on medium-haul flights, while those connecting onto long-haul services can also experience KLM’s Premium Comfort cabin.

Beyond customer convenience, KLM also sees the route as an opportunity to support Jersey’s economy and international visibility.

“Connectivity is incredibly important for island economies,” Salemi says. “Better air links help support tourism, strengthen business opportunities, and make destinations more attractive and competitive internationally.”

Jerome Salemi added: “We also hope this route encourages more people to discover Jersey for themselves. The island has so much to offer — from its coastline and hospitality to its food, history and culture. We’re excited to help showcase Jersey to more travellers from around the world.
