A “terribly disturbing” dog attack on a flock of hens will mean a local honesty box will be very low on eggs for the coming months.
Fungi Delecti shared the news that their flock of young hens were killed in a “very severe” dog attack on the north coast recently.
The incident means the courier business cannot stock many eggs on its honesty stall or through its mobile app.
The company said it cannot guarantee any will be available for the next few months.
Sharing the update on their social media, Fungi Delecti did confirm that they were aware of the dog and its owners and “private” conversations have since taken place.
They said the owners of the dog were “mortified” that their pet had attacked the hens.
In a Facebook post, Fungi Delecti said that the attack was “terribly disturbing” and “couldn’t have come at a worse time as the flock were young and destined for a lovely life”.
It is not clear how many hens were victim to the attack.
