The issue had left the man on board with no other means of communication besides his mobile phone.
The Channel Islands Air Search crew tracked down the vessel at 07:30 this morning, after almost two hours of searching.
Pictured: Channel Islands Air Search located the yacht 10 miles south-west from Jersey’s coast.
The service’s plane, the Lion’s Pride, located the boat 10 miles south-west from Jersey’s coast.
The yacht was then safely towed to shore by the RNLI Jersey.
In a Facebook post, the Channel Islands Air Search crew gave their thanks to “the teams at Guernsey Airport, Jersey Coastguard and the RNLI, and to Tracy for dropping off croissants and orange juice for the crew on their return”.
