Scott Mills is running 144 miles – that’s about five and a half marathons – taking his food, water and sleeping bag with him – to raise money for Brighter Futures Jersey and Tiny Toones – a school using hip hop to reach out and educate children living in Cambodia’s city slums.

He set off yesterday on his epic run, three times around the Island.

Scott said: “It’s a mental endurance test. Hopefully I’ll be the winner!”

He has set himself a target of raising £5,000 – half for each charity. It’s money that will go a long way in Cambodia where every pound pays for a child’s education for a week at Tiny Toones – the school he has volunteered at.

Scott said: “Tiny Toones provides a safe, positive environment for at‐risk youths in the slums of Phnom Penh in Cambodia to channel their energy and creativity into arts and education using Hip Hop as a channel to achieve their goal. Without this school, the kids would not receive any education, and be forced to work on the streets.”
