Islanders looking to submit a planning application, lodge a comment, or submit an appeal to the Planning Department will be unable to do so for almost a week

The Planning Portal and Register will be offline until Tuesday 26 August while Planning Services “make improvements to upgrade their systems”.

It means that any current or prospective applicants and agents will not be able to submit any applications, documents, messages or post-decision appeals via the Portal in that time.

Payments for applications will not be available either.

A statement on the Government website clarified that appeals for Planning decisions can be submitted using paper appeal forms. They must be submitted to the Judicial Greffe by post or hand delivery.

The statement added that applications with a consultation or publicity date in the affected closure window will have decisions issued “no earlier than a week” following the original target date “to allow an additional period of time for consultee responses”.

“All affected pending applications in their publication period will have an extension of one-week for public comments to account for this period of closure,” it added.
