So far there has been little success as the States are still investigating ways to alleviate the problem.

Infrastructure Minister Deputy Eddie Noel told the Express last month that a seaweed ‘eating’ machine will be used on Jersey’s beaches next month – initially for a trial period. He has also expressed his determination to try to find a way to solve the problem. 

Other environmentally friendly methods have been suggested as the scourge of seaweed continues to blight the Island’s beaches.
