St Peter parishioners will next week be asked to give their seal of approval to a swanky new private airport lounge offering travellers the opportunity to enjoy fine dining and fizz before they jet-set.
The application by No1 Lounges (JER) Ltd for a 3rd category restaurant licence will be considered at a Parish Assembly on Wednesday 7 May at 7.10pm in the Parish Hall.
If approved, the exclusive lounge – due to open in summer 2025 – will replace the current upstairs atrium.
“Complimentary seasonal hot dishes, snacks, premium drinks, and unlimited WIFI” will be on offer, with access granted to holders of certain credit cards or members of frequent flyer schemes. Passengers will also be able to pay a walk-in fee.
The plans initially attracted concerns from some islanders who feared that non-paying visitors would no longer be able to watch planes take-off and land before they fly, as had previously been the case.
An online petition aiming to get the plans thrown out was set up and attracted more than 600 signatures.

But, in response, Ports of Jersey promised an “open to all roof terrace”, “fun play area for children”, and a “quieter area” for those seeking peace and quiet.
Ports CEO Matt Thomas said the lounge would be a “stylish sanctuary from the busy terminal”.
No1 Lounges boss Rami El-Dahshan said the team was “thrilled to be part of this ambitious project” to reflect Jersey’s “incredible energy and unique charm”.
The upcoming St Peter parish assembly will also see parishioners asked to nominate a new Secretary for the Youth & Community Centre Committee.
