Initial concept images showcasing a “first glimpse” of the planned transformation of the departure lounge at Jersey Airport have been unveiled by Ports of Jersey.

Key changes include a “Martello tower-inspired” lift connecting to a new mezzanine level with views of the runway, as well as expanded dining and shopping options – including a bar and restaurant called “The Shoreline”.

There will also be a new family zone designed in collaboration with Brighter Futures and a ‘Sunflower Room’ to support passengers with hidden disabilities.

Granite, timber and native planting – intended to evoke Jersey themes – will be used throughout the redevelopment, which will also include Genuine Jersey shopping, food and beverage outlets, the No 1 Lounge, new toilets, an assisted travel lounge, sensory room, first aid room, and multi-faith room.

Preparatory work has already begun, with construction due to commence in February and the first phase expected to open in summer 2026 – with the whole new departure lounge completed by summer 2027.
