A local photographer is inviting Islanders to put themselves – or someone they admire – forward for a new portrait project celebrating the people who make Jersey unique.
Max Burnett has launched an open call for participants as he prepares for his first solo exhibition Portrait of Jersey, a series of photographs and personal stories showcasing the island’s communities and characters.
Announcing the project on social media, Max said: “I’m working on my first solo exhibition and I’m looking for Jersey people to photograph.
“It could be someone whom you find inspiring, someone who deserves a place in Jersey’s Hall of Frame, or it could be a grandparent who tells that same story every Christmas that no one else has heard.”
The project aims to capture the people and stories that reflect life in Jersey, whether participants have lived on the Island all their lives or arrived more recently.
The exhibition will bring together a collection of portraits and accompanying stories celebrating the people, communities and everyday life that shape Jersey.
Islanders who would like to take part, or nominate someone else, are encouraged to get in touch with Max via LinkedIn or by messaging the @portraitsofjersey account on Instagram.
Updates on the project will also be shared through the Instagram page.
