Police now believe that a collision in which a motorcyclist mounted the pavement and hit a dog walker last week was “a deliberate hit and run”.

The force is still appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident or who can help locate the motorbike involved.

The collision took place on Monday 3 March at around 19:12 on Bagot Road, near the junction with Norcott Road.

Police say they believe the motorcyclist was riding a grey and black Talaria Sting R, an electric dirt bike, with the registration J62340.

The force is “actively looking to recover the vehicle”.

The 47-year-old pedestrian and his dog were treated for injuries and recovered at home.
