The Princess Royal is due to visit Jersey next month to open Durrell’s new gorilla enclosure.

Princess Anne has been a patron of the Wildlife Conservation Trust for over 50 years, visiting the charity’s projects around the world, including in Mauritius, Brazil and Madagascar.

She is due to officially open the new gorilla enclosure on Thursday 30 April.

Her Royal Highness most recently visited Jersey in November 2025, when she unveiled a portrait by Jersey artist Jason Butler of King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to the island in 2024.

During her time in Jersey last year, Princess Anne also visited the recently refurbished Opera House and met islanders connected to the Jersey Branch of the Royal Air Force Association.
