James John Matthews, Deputy Headteacher at St. John’s School, appeared at the Magistrate’s Court via video link this morning.
He is facing a single charge of making 33 indecent images of children under the age of 16 on an Apple iMac on or before 19 December 2019.
Upon recommendations from Legal Adviser Chris Baglin, Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris declined jurisdiction.
Mr Matthews will therefore be committed to the Royal court on 25 June.
His Advocate, David Steenson said he would not be making an application for bail on behalf of his client, instead adding that Mr Matthews “would like to be taken into custody straight away.”
