Voting has opened for Jersey Finance’s awards initiative designed to recognise the future leaders from across the local financial services industry.

It is the second year Jersey Finance has organised its Rising Stars Awards, which aim to celebrate young Jersey talent (age 16 - 30 years) and their successes and achievements.

Over the past two months, nominations have been put forward by firms who feel they know a young person who has made a difference to their workplace, set a strong example in their field of work or drawn on their skills to make a positive impact in the local community.

Over 150 entries were reviewed by independent judges Dr Patricia Tumelty, Executive Director of MIND Jersey and Jennifer Carnegie, Director of Amicus Limited, with 36 young professionals being shortlisted across a range of 12 categories. Those include Accountancy, Banking, Compliance, CSR and Employee Morale, Digital, Funds, Human Resources, Investment Management, Law, Marketing, Operations and Secretarial, and Trust and Corporate Services.

The public is now able to vote via the Rising Stars microsite, up until 16 August, with the winners being announced at a special ceremony on 10 September.

Sponsors for the Rising Stars Awards 2021 are PwC, HSBC Bank, Oak Group, IQ-EQ, Puritas Software Solutions, Walkers, Vistra, and Stonehage Fleming.

Commenting on the awards, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive, Jersey Finance said:

“We had a fantastic response to our inaugural awards last year, which recognised some exceptional young talent right across the industry, and the nominations we received this year have been just as strong.

“Our young people are our future leaders and it’s important, particularly in a year that marks the 60th anniversary of our finance industry in Jersey, that we celebrate the diversity and high calibre of our industry’s rising stars. I hope that people will get behind the initiative and cast their votes.”
