Goals from Ross Allen and Jacob Fallaize have helped to keep Guernsey FC’s survival hopes alive.
They hit the back of the net to ensure a 0-2 win over hosts Badshot Lea on Saturday.
Both goals were set up by Charlton Gauvain with Allen scoring in the 4th minute and Fallaize in the 33rd.
The Green Lions called it a “massive away win” as the team maintained a hard fought defence of their victory in the second half.
Saturday’s win leaves them in 20th place, in the relegation zone, on 33 points. Ashford Town are just a point above them.
The GFC match report describes this win as “just the start for the Green Lions if they are going to pull off the great escape, but they have given themselves a chance”.
Guernsey FC next play on Sunday, at their new home Victoria Park, hosting Southall.
Southall are currently sitting in 14th place on 47 points.
