Guernsey’s female cyclists prevail for the second year running in the Women’s Road Race, winning Individual and Team gold medals.
Guernsey’s Pippa Inderwick took the gold medal in the Women’s Individual Road Race with an emphatic time of 1 hour 35 minutes and 45 seconds. Following in the footsteps of Guernsey’s Jamie-Lee Wright who completed the same feat in 2023.
The race around the West Mainland in Orkney saw four of Guernsey’s cyclists make up the top ten. A photo finish with Gibraltar’s Olivia Lett saw Hannah Kennedy finish just outside the podium spots in fourth place, Chloe Truffitt followed in seventh, and Andrea Nightingale in tenth.
The same four cyclists won silver in the Women’s Time Trial Team Award on Monday, improved on their previous outing by winning gold in the Road Race Team Award.
An excellent return from Guernsey’s riders adds fuel to their medal table charge.
