Guernsey came away with wins in seven out of the 11 categories contested in the Channel Islands Finals.

The finals were held in Jersey, with matches in men’s and ladies singles, U25 singles, pairs, triples, fours and men’s veteran fours.

Winners will now form the Channel Islands squad which will play at the British Isles Championships against England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales this March in Llanelli.

Ian Merrien took the men’s singles title with a 21-15 win against Ross Davis, while Alison Merrien won the Ladies with a 21-9 victory against Chloe Greechan.

That Ladies title capped a successful weekend for Merrien, she also won the Ladies Pairs alongside Shirley Petit, 26-11 against Greechan and Megan Kivlin.

Guernsey men’s pair of Brad Le Noury and Dave King lost 13-18 to Jersey’s John Lowery and Mark Duckett.

Guernsey also won the Men’s Triples (19-13), Ladies Fours (21-13), Men’s Fours (20-17) and Veteran Fours (27-11).

Jersey took the Men’s U25 Singles (21-11) and Ladies U25 Singles (21-8) as well as the Ladies Triples (20-9).
