The champion of this year’s Guernsey Table Tennis Association’s Summer League has been crowned.
Sekao Nwako finished at the top of the standings after impressive performances meant he edged out on top over Olivia Gilbert.
Nwako’s training paid off as he notched up 6 group wins over 12 weeks of playing, which is a helpful boost as he prepares for his debut in the Doric Insurance League Division 2.
Gilbert is a fast-improving Junior who pushed Nwako right to the last week. Meanwhile, table tennis main-stay, Nye Matthew finsihed in 3rd.
The Summer league, which was introduced only a few years ago to fill the gap between the main table tennis season, has improved greatly. This year, there were 113 entrants including returning players and visitors to the island.
