Guernsey Athletics’ annual cross country series returns this weekend.

C.A. Duquemin has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal for the event which includes four races over the autumn and winter months, starting this weekend.

Chris Gilman, Endurance Director at Guernsey Athletics, said the events are for juniors, beginners, and experienced runners alike with the series seen as a cornerstone of the island’s sporting calendar.

He said the new partnership with C.A. Duquemin will help to ensure its continued success while also encouraging participation across all ages.

“We’re delighted to welcome C.A. Duquemin as our sponsor. Their commitment helps us keep the series thriving and ensures we can continue offering inclusive races that encourage both new and experienced runners to take part.”

Darren du Jardin (pictured top with Guernsey Athletics’ Joseph Truelove), Managing Director at C.A. Duquemin, added: “We’re proud to support the Guernsey Cross-Country Series, a community event that embodies resilience, teamwork and tradition – values that drive our business forward.”

The series starts this Saturday at Delancey Park with beginners and experienced runners all welcome to enter the 3-mile race at guernseyathletics.org.gg.

This year’s event includes the reintroduction of the ‘sport’ option – which is a shorter two mile run for adults.

This distance will be available at each of the cross country series events, and Guernsey Athletics said, “as a guideline this is for novice, returning or masters athletes who would expect to run above 30 minutes for 5k”.

This year’s races are at Delancey Park, Stonecrusher, Bordeaux Harbour and Home Farm.
