Some of the world’s leading triathletes will once again be competing in Jersey this September as the Supertri returns to the Waterfront.

The island will host the finale of Supertri’s revamped Pro Series, where there will be an $800,000 prize purse.

The global triathlon brand has confirmed the season-ending showdown will take place on 6 September 2026, marking the sixth time the event has been staged in Jersey.

Organisers say the event will feature some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Olympic champions Alex Yee and Cassandre Beaugrand, who have already confirmed they will race in Jersey.

Supertri CEO and co-founder Michael D’hulst described Jersey as the “spiritual home” of the series and said the island was the ideal location for the final.

“This is a huge year for Supertri as we continue to grow the sport and unify professional and amateur racing,” he said. “We can’t think of anywhere more fitting to host the Pro Series Final.”

The 2026 format has been overhauled, with athletes competing as individuals rather than in teams. Three qualifying Pro Series events will take place ahead of the Jersey final, with the top three male and female athletes from each earning a place alongside Supertri’s established stars.

The $800,000 purse is being billed as the largest single-day prize fund in triathlon this year.

Beyond the elite racing, organisers say the event will again focus heavily on community engagement after last year’s competition included school visits, coaching sessions and athlete Q&As involving hundreds of young islanders.

Working alongside Jersey Sport, Supertri says it hopes to continue encouraging more islanders to take up sport and adopt healthier lifestyles.

Jersey Sport chief executive David Kennedy said the event had become an important showcase for the island.

“Our island has quickly become a popular destination within the Supertri series,” said Kennedy. “The event gives us a chance to show Jersey at its best and inspire people locally by bringing world-class competition right to our doorstep.”

Alongside the professional racing, the RBC Race for the Kids charity fun run will also return after attracting almost 1,000 participants in 2025.

The event will form part of a wider “weekend of endurance sport” alongside Swim Run Jersey and the JSAC Half Marathon, with competitors and spectators expected to descend on the island across the weekend.

The Supertri Pro Series Final will take place around St Helier’s Waterfront, with athletes once again set to dive into the marina for the decisive race of the season.
