The first-ever ‘The Food Warehouse’ store outside of the UK has opened in Guernsey, at Alliance.
The Iceland franchise has seen the firm’s products take over more shelf space at Alliance with additional well known brands such as Slimming World, Greggs, Cathedral City, TGI Friday’s, and MyProtein.
Operating from Alliance’s store on Braye Road industrial estate, the new look facility is officially reopening today with a number of special offers “helping shoppers to save money this January and beyond”.
Justin Addison, International and Partnerships Director at Iceland Foods, said: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of Alliance The Food Warehouse in Guernsey, our first location outside the UK. This is a significant milestone for Iceland Foods and a testament to the strength of our partnership with Alliance.
“We’re excited to offer our high-quality, great-value products to the community and provide customers with a fresh and convenient shopping experience.”
Andrew Bagot, Managing Director of Alliance added: “We’re thrilled to reopen our much-loved store in partnership with The Food Warehouse and bring their much-loved products to our shoppers.
“Together, we’re making it easier than ever for households in the Channel Islands to access Iceland’s fantastic range at an unbeatable price, covering everything from everyday essentials to seasonal favourites.”
Iceland opened the first The Food Warehouse in 2014, with stores often double the size of traditional Iceland units.
Meanwhile, Alliance has been operating in Guernsey for decades and now has five stores across the Channel Islands, employing more than 160 people.
Iceland did have three Guernsey stores through a previous franchise agreement with Sandpiper CI but those are all scheduled to be converted into Morrisons stores over the coming months.
