PwC Channel Islands, (CI), has announced the promotion of four audit specialists to Director positions across the Bailiwicks of  Guernsey and Jersey.

The firm says the promotions reflect the growing demand their services and acknowledge the significant skills, experience, and dedication of the appointees, and say it’s aiming to ensure continued client satisfaction.

Joe McDermott‘s promotion to Director in Guernsey, follows 12 years with PwC. The firm says it highlights his deep expertise in auditing across banking, private equity, and wealth management companies with operations in Guernsey, Jersey, and London.

Mr McDermott has a background in Chemistry from Imperial College London, while not directly related to finance, PWC says this shows a strong analytical mind, which is a key asset in audit work. The company says his promotion signifies Mr McDermott’s capability in handling complex financial structures typical of these sectors.

Milly Abbott, also based in Guernsey, has also been promoted. PwC saying her move to Director showcases Ms Abbott’s extensive audit experience, since joining PwC back in 2014.

Her specialisation is in alternative investment funds – covering private equity, debt, infrastructure, and even unique assets like music royalty funds – PwC says this demonstrates a niche and in-demand skill set within the Channel Islands’ financial landscape, and adds that this promotion recognises her profound understanding of  intricate fund structures.

In Jersey, Chloe Hutt, who began her career with PwC CI as a graduate in 2012 in Jersey, has also been promoted to Director, as did Yash Pareima who started with the firm 10 years and has over 13 years in audit.

Partner and Guernsey Office Leader, Roland Mills, underscores that these promotions are not just individual achievements but reflect a broader pattern of growth and the firm’s commitment to nurturing leadership: “The Partnership and I are very proud of our newly promoted audit Directors. In particular, the Guernsey-based Joe and Milly, whose hard work and commitment to continuously deliver for their clients and for PwC are exemplary. We congratulate them both wholeheartedly and wish them the very best in their new roles.”

Mr Mills added that the promotions to Director are just part of a sweep of promotions across the Channel Islands, alongside a significant amount of career milestones: “Our newly appointed directors are among a total of 30 promotions across our Guernsey and Jersey offices, including 8 Senior Managers and 18 Managers also reaching significant career milestones.”

Mr Mills concluded: “Together they share a number of common traits which we look for and nurture in our  people – a boldness of vision to innovate, a sense of optimism to inspire others and collaborative approach to problem-solving and relationship building. These are the leadership qualities that drive our people and service-focused business forward.”
