Students from Guernsey are being invited to find out more about a career in finance, with a paid summer internship at one of the Channel Islands’ most-prestigious professional services firms.

Mourant’s Governance Services Summer Scheme is open to people currently studying A-levels or at university.

It offers two to four weeks’ paid work experience in the firm’s Guernsey office as well as a personal mentor.

A spokesperson said the scheme will give students “a valuable insight into the world of corporate and trust administration and accounting”.

Guernsey MD Caroline Prow said it was “an invaluable opportunity for students to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience within the financial services industry”.

The internship could help people “build confidence, develop practical skills and really understand what a future career in this sector might look like”.

Applications opened on 1 April and close on 30 April, with information and an application form on Mourant’s website.

Similar schemes are available in Jersey, Mourant said.
