Investec has announced the appointment of FJ Eigelaar as Managing Director of Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited.
Mr Eigelaar has also joined the IAFCI Board to “support the ongoing development of Investec’s asset finance offering across the Crown Dependencies”.
He has been with Investec since 2008, holding senior roles across the business, most recently as Head of Client Group Funding. His experience in delivering financing solutions for private companies closely aligns with Investec’s ambition to strengthen the asset finance services available to clients in the islands, the firm says.
IAFCI’s team supports the growth of privately-owned companies by developing solutions, including insurance premium funding, vehicle finance, IT infrastructure, business space refits, essential equipment and machinery, as well as aviation and marine assets.
IAFCI’s team has operated in the Crown Dependencies since 2017, with offices in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
Asset Finance forms part of the Investec Group’s wider integrated offering that includes private banking and lending for individuals, family offices, financial intermediaries and wealth management services through its long-term strategic partner, Rathbones.
Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited CEO Jane Niles said: “FJ’s appointment is a clear commitment to support the range of specialist finance solutions available to our clients across the Crown Dependencies.
“Investec has built a strong presence in the islands over more than two decades, and I have no doubt that FJ will bring real value to our clients, capabilities and team as we continue our investment in local capabilities and client proposition.”
Mr Eigelaar added that he was “delighted to take on” his new role.
“My family and I have received such a warm welcome since moving to Jersey, and we already feel part of the community,” he said.
“Investec plays an important role in supporting individuals and their families through a range of personal banking services, while also helping businesses across the islands to grow through specialist lending.
“I look forward to working with colleagues, clients and partners to continue delivering the solutions that help people and businesses across the islands.”
