With effect from 30 March the Household Green Waste site at Mont Cuet will move to
summer opening hours, until 15 November 2025.
Guernsey Waste has reviewed the summer opening hours for 2024 and has decided to extend the summer opening period. This decision comes after observing that site usage remained high for several weekends following last year’s shift to the winter opening hours.
The site will be open Mondays to Wednesday (closed Thursdays) between 10am and 6pm, open Friday between 9:30am and 6pm, and open on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays between 10am and 4pm.
Douglas Button, Guernsey Waste’s Minimisation & Sustainability Officer, shared that the new site, which opened to the public last year, has been very well received. A review of the opening hours, based on usage patterns from the previous site, was conducted to create a schedule better suited to customer demand, with separate summer and winter hours.
