Digital Jersey have released a newsletter which includes guidance for indoor workplaces, including offices, warehouses, manufacturing and workshops.
In the newsletter Tony Moretta, CEO of Digital Jersey, said, "I am writing to provide you with a short update on Jersey's draft workplace regulations. These are due to be debated before the States Assembly today, and, if approved, will come into force from tomorrow. It is expected, but not confirmed, that any relaxation in current operating restrictions will come into force from then.
"To help ensure staff are working safely together, it is expected that where employees are able work from home, they will continue to do so. Firms will be required to undertake a COVID-19 risk assessment for the workplace and discuss it with the people who work there. Firms will need to ensure they have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with Government guidance, and will have taken all reasonably practicable steps to maintain a 2m distance within the workplace.
"We have been involved in the consultation exercise with government and the latest version of the guidelines is here. Government have asked me to point out that whilst they don’t anticipate major edits to these guidelines, this is not guaranteed until the change to the status of indoor workplaces comes into effect. Following finalisation of the guidelines and our own risk assessment we will update you with further information in respect of the Hub, the Hub offices, the Digital Jersey Academy, and DJX."
