Cheshire Home launches new website to raise funds and awareness

Tuesday 05 July 2022

A Jersey charity which cares for some of Jersey’s most physically disabled people has developed a new website with the help of local developers Synergy to increase awareness and raise funds.

The website is designed to make it easier for people to donate to help some of the island’s most physically disabled.

The new website now includes a direct donate mechanism along with newly created appeal pages highlighting the year’s strategic priority projects which have been designed to further enhance lives of disabled islanders and which altogether will cost the charity more than £350,000.

Appeals launched in 2022 include plans to enhance the residents’ dining experience, the installation of fire sprinkler systems throughout the home and aspirations to create an outdoor activities room and improve access to the home’s garden.

Donna Abel, CEO of Jersey Cheshire Homes, said: “It costs £8,200 per day to run our home and fundraising is vital so that we can continue to offer our services which enhance the lives of islanders with disabilities.

“All the money we raise stays in the island and we hope that the new site will help us to reach more people, connect with them and encourage our supporters to become donors for life.”
