The Chief Executive of Jersey's competition authority will take over as Chair of the Small Nations Regulators' Forum in 2023.
The SNRF was founded by the International Institute of Communications (IIC) to enable small jurisdictions to share knowledge of opportunities and constraints in media and communications regulation in countries with small populations and or economies.
IIC Director General, Lynn Robinson said: "I am delighted to welcome incoming Chair, Tim Ringsdore, who will be picking up the baton from the outgoing SNRF Chair, Dr Allyson Leacock, Chair, Barbados Broadcasting Commission. Tim's extensive knowledge and expertise will ensure the IIC's SNRF will continue to go from strength to strength."
Mr Ringsdore said: "It is a pleasure and an honour to be taking up this role for such a prestigious and important Forum within the wider media and communications community. It is vitally important that Regulators in smaller jurisdictions have a platform in which to discuss openly the problems we all face in ensuring competition and regulatory matters are consistently managed around the world, and to share best practice and ideas on how to achieve the highest standards possible. From a local point of view, it is also crucial that we learn from our peers to help us provide a service for Jersey consumers to ensure the receive best value, choice and access to quality services."
