Elian has launched a ‘first of its kind’ graduate training programme to attract and support talented graduates looking to start their careers with a broad training scheme that offers them preparation in all elements of the trust world, along with management, leadership and client care training.
The scheme, which launched with seven recruits on 28th September with a six week induction programme, will see the graduates receive a two-year intensive training programme which comprises of four, six-month placements, working across different service lines within the business, on a range of business activities and high-level projects.
Graduates can benefit from fast tracking to gain senior administrator skills, whilst they are undertaking professional qualifications supported by the business.
"With a growing industry in Jersey, and fewer opportunities available to graduates in the UK compared to previous years, this intensive programme will offer high calibre graduates a comprehensive training programme in Jersey. It’s widely recognised that there is a shortage of experienced administrators in Jersey at the present time, and this programme will help us to develop these individuals to an excellent standard as administrators and prepare them to become our future leaders," said Natalie McMullen, Head of Resourcing at Elian.
"This is a big investment for us and we think it will be great for both Elian and the individuals on the programme. The graduates can look forward to a tailored training across our corporate, funds, capital and private wealth services. The scheme will prepare the graduates to take on roles in any area of fiduciary services and give them broader business experience unlike many such schemes that offer training in the technical aspects of one area.
"We hope to employ at least eight more graduates in 2016. We will constantly be developing the scheme over the coming months and years, to ensure it suits our business goals and provides graduates with development opportunities that are meaningful to them. We have already started recruiting for the 2016 in-take."
Robert Scott, who joined the scheme in September, said: "The Elian graduate scheme has been a fantastic introduction to fiduciary services and has taken a tailored approach to starting our training at this company, and within the industry in general. As someone who is new to financial services, and to Jersey itself, Elian has been extremely friendly and welcoming right from the very start of the recruitment process. I cannot recommend this scheme highly enough for graduates seeking a start to their careers in financial services."
Elian is hosting an open day on Tuesday 22nd December 2015 at 16.00 - 18.00 for parents and students to find out more and meet some of the 2015 graduates to hear about their experience so far.
Any students who are graduating next year should contact Elian for information on how to enrol, or alternatively send their CV to global.recruitment@elian.com.
