Jersey trainee completes Ogier solicitor training programme

A Jersey trainee is joining Ogier’s Guernsey Dispute Resolution team after completing the firm’s English Solicitor Training Programme.

In addition, Zoë Beer will be promoted to Associate.

Also becoming an Associate is Jonathan Law, who trained in Guernsey and has now relocated to Hong Kong to join the firm’s banking and finance team.

Ogier’s training scheme is a two-year programme, which sees trainees take on up to four seats, including time in Litigation, and incorporates the Professional Skills Course and an experiential litigation course, with a mock trial at the Magistrate's Court.

"Although we are based in multiple jurisdictions, we think of ourselves as one firm and both Zoë and Jonathan's relocations are a great example of this mentality. Their paths also demonstrate that choosing to train in one location does not limit the possibilities of where your career might take you,” said Partner Richard Daggett, who leads the training scheme.

"A sizeable number of senior members of the firm have graduated from the course, and we all take significant pride in delivering this dedicated development programme that is equivalent to those run by City firms. Qualifying as a Solicitor is a landmark in anyone's legal career. We are delighted to celebrate Zoë and Jonathan's success and welcome them to their new roles as associates."
